The new OFI-BI and OFI-BIPM from AFL are simple tools for the detection and identification of standard and bending-optimized optical fibers.
Quickly and securely, you will recognize whether or not the fiber is already carrying a signal and what direction the transmission runs in; the OFI-BIPM also reveals how high the optical power is. The novel bending mechanism has a defined end stop that ensures perfect detection without disrupting the data traffic or damaging the fiber.
With these devices, you can service the fibers without disrupting data transmission; other customer and data connections continue uninterrupted.
The integrated optical power meter in the OFI-BIPM model handles power level testing during installation or repair. Field applications are facilitated with the help of the universal measuring head, which is suited both for fibers with a jacket (primary and secondary coatings) and fiber ribbons.
Adjustments are made quickly and easily and the measurement results reviewed on the touchscreen.
