IR Arrays

Powerful IR arrays were developed for applications in NIR spectroscopy. Multiplex arrays made of PbS and PbSe are currently available.

One-dimensional IR Arrays

With this new detector Cal-Sensors offers the NIR spectroscopy user a powerful array with attractive conditions.

IR Arrays

Third-generation, multiplexed 256-element PbS and PbSe arrays from CalSensors are now available. The light-sensitive region still spans from 1-3 µm for PbS and 1-5 µm for PbSe arrays.

Second-generation arrays, which came out in 2008, included the new 256 multiplexer. This improvement simplified readout and made the signal more homogeneous. In the third generation, the focus of improvement became better dark current stability. The three outer pixels on each side are blackened and used in drift compensation. The third generation, therefore, has only 250 pixels instead of 256.

This assembly is still equipped with a single-stage Peltier cooler and comes in a 28-pin housing. The pixel grid is 250 µm. Each active element is 40 µm wide and 450 µm high. A version with quadratic pixels (40 µm x 40 µm) is also available for the PbSe array. Integration takes from 0.01 to 100 msec, and the dynamic range of a single scan is 4000:1. An individual dark current subtraction has also been integrated.

Accessories
For easy operation the multiplexed PbS and PbSe arrays are also available with a development system; in particular, the USB controller board was improved in this new generation and is suitable for OEM applications.
