Together with Gentec-EO, LASER COMPONENTS offers a calibration service for most of its thermopile detectors, display units, and power meters from third parties. As the European calibration center, LASER COMPONENTS has upheld the same high quality standards you have come to expect from Gentec-EO. Our calibration setup is identical to the one from our Canadian partner and has been launched together with Gentec-EO. In this way, we save our European customers both time and money as it is no longer necessary to ship to Canada. This advantage is once more proof of our effort to deliver the best service possible for our customers and their systems and components. In many cases customers that buy other brands can also be helped. If you send us your detector head together with the readout unit we are usually able to perform a calibration sufficient for the majority of applications.
The detectors are each calibrated at 1064 nm with a Rofin Baasel laser. The measurements are based on NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) standards.
About the calibration: The current value for the sensitivity of the detector is measured and stored in the EEPROM, which is located in the connector. Additionally, the new sensitivity is compared to the results from former calibrations to make sure that changes are within acceptable tolerance ranges (variance).
