Fibre-Coupled Laser Diodes

Our range of fibre-coupled laser diode products is quite extensive. Telecommunications emitters are used in optical data transmission and are, therefore, equipped with optical connectors. Customer-specific requirements can be easily integrated.

Laser Diodes with Fibre Connection (CW and Pulsed)

DFB triplexer laser

Coupled optoelectronic components with fibres (405 nm – 1610 nm)

Our range of laser diodes with fibre connection and optical plugs is extensive. Laser diodes are available with an FC, ST, or SC receptacle or with core diametres of 3 – 200 µm for the fibre coupled versions. The fibre end is either open or terminated with an optical connector (both PC and APC polishing can be done).

Depending on the integrated laser diode (cw or pulsed) output powers of up to 120 mW from a 9/125 single mode fibre can be achieved.

These laser diodes are used in fibre optical data transmission, measurement devices (OTDR), process control, optical sensors, and alignment systems.

DFB Triplexer Modules
The 1 mW triplexer laser module was designed for use in fibre-optical testing devices for which several wavelengths are required. The wavelengths 1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm, which can be used simultaneously, are integrated into a small housing and coupled into an SM fibre.

405 nm cw Laserdioden
The K41 and CS405 series emit an optical power of 20 mW to 100 mW from the fibre at a wavelength of 405 nm.

Pulsed Laser Modules
Pulsed laser modules of the PL13 and PL15 series from PD-LD, Inc. are mainly used for optical measurement devices like OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflection). They comprise InGaAsP diodes at 1310 nm or 1550 nm and a spectral width typically of 7 nm. Depending on the wavelength output power can range from 60 to 120 mW, threshold current from 20 to 30 mA, and the operating current from 30 to 50 mA. The operating voltage is 3 V. Rise and fall times are 1 ns. The pulse width is specified with 10 ns at a duty cycle of 1%. The laser diodes are offered in different housings, which have been made using a new YAG laser welding system. These housings are extremely stable mechanically. Versions are available for PCB or front plate mounting and either with common optical connectors (FC, ST®, SC) or with fibre coupling (9/125, 50/125, 62,5/125, 100/140 µm, and many more).
