Sapphire Fibers
Sapphire has excellent properties yet is very flexible.
Other Fibers
Our sapphire fibers are manufactured according to the EFG technique (edge-defined, film-fed growth). They feature all of the excellent properties of the sapphire crystall, yet at the same time are very flexible. Sapphire has a very high melting point (more than 2000 °C) and is chemically almost neutral. Therefore, it can be used in extremely aggressive environments. Sapphire fibers are perfectly suited for chemical processing plants where reactions have to be monitored. Sapphire is also well suited for Er:YAG lasers. Sapphire fibers are available in diameters from 250 to 425 µm and in lengths of up to 2 m.
The curved sapphire tip can be coupled directly to the main fiber, guiding the laser beam to the point of application. Choose from a selection of different diameters and integrate these sterilizable fibers into your handpiece. They replace mirrors and other optics in the handpiece, and you get a compact system.
