Bandpass Filters
Colored glass filters are manufactured using a well-defined process of glass melting. The introduction of foreign substances defines the filter properties. Compared to layer systems working by interference, the filter performance does not depend on the angle of incidence. Due to surface reflection and a prolonged optical path, the transmission is lower and there is a displacement of the beam. In comparison to interference filters, this type of filter has significantly wider slopes. Just as with all optical filters, large temperature gradients should be avoided.
