Optical Fiber Processing

We offer tools for a large variety of different types of fiber processing:

This includes the stripping of fiber claddings, the cleaning and cleaving of fibers, and splicing or polishing, depending on the application. Microscopes and/or interferometers are used in the analysis of fiber end surfaces.

We have tools available for all stages of processing, both for field applications and applications in the laboratory. We cover the entire range of fiber diameters to 1.2 mm.

Fiber Strippers

Secure removal of the buffer from a fiber. Also available: sterilizable fiber strippers for use in the medical field.

Fiber Stripper

Fiber strippers are necessary to safely remove the buffer from otpical fibers. LASER COMPONENTS offers a suitable stripper for all common fiber types.

For use in the medical field, sterilizable fiber strippers called "MediStrip" are available.

Standard stripper: The blue precision fiber stripper is particularly suited for fibers with a buffer diameter of 125 µm. The red strippers are available for different fiber diameters (from 200 µm to 1000 µm).

Adjustable fiber stripper: The yellow stripper is suitable for large core and POF fibers.

MediStrip: MediStrip was specially developed for use in the medical field. Even after 100 sterilizations inside an autoclave the strippers work flawlessly. To distinguish strippers for different fiber diameters the MediStrip comes with color-coded handles. It is available for all common fiber types from 200 µm to 800 µm and saves money because it can be used over and over again under sterile conditions.
