The first international meeting of the year in our industry is over and again we can look back on an excellent Photonics West. The growth of the LASER COMPONENTS Group is not only visible in its new production facilities. To introduce our expanded range of products and provide our new German business partners with ample space on the American market, we increased our exhibition space at Photonics West by 50%. The sales team was expanded as well; in fact, our subsidiary in the U.S.A. is bursting at the seams. The story of Laser Components USA, which began more than ten years ago, is a very successful one. More and more German and European manufacturers have placed their trust in our sales and market knowledge. I am happy to report that we have already found a new site: deep in snow north of Boston, not far from the previous location, our American subsidiary bought its own building. The decision to buy corporate real estate instead of renting, which is more common in the U.S.A., underscores our long-term commitment and the stability we have achieved to this point. This sends an important message to the employees on site, as well as to our customers and suppliers. The move will take place in March, in the hopes that the snow will have melted by then.
