Three-Axis Splicer S179

Thanks to its new features, FITEL’s new core-centered fusion splicer S179 is even more efficient and easy to use than its predecessor. Its V-groove can be removed in only a few steps, granting easy access for cleaning all of the important parts. A 4.3” LCD touchscreen allows for easy and intuitive control. Up to 100 of the most recent fiber profiles are stored and displayed at will.

The bigger and well-lit splicing chamber provides a better view of the fibers and makes the S179 even easier to load than previous models. A powerful 8N engine allows for easy ­loading and splicing of trunk cables. In semi-automatic mode, the splicing process is finished after just 6 seconds. The improved heating system brings even higher efficiency, reducing the time for application of a heat-shrink splice protector to nine seconds.

S179 also features several wireless interfaces: Using NFC, a user can lock and unlock the device with a cell phone; an optional WiFi dongle allows for easy control using a smart phone app.
Like all FITEL splicers, the S179 is very sturdy and built to resist water, dust and even the hardest impact. Its robust nature and a battery lasting about 200 splicing cycles make it the right choice for outdoor operation. Up to 300 different splicing programs cover all types of fibers. The device’s automatic mode enables completely autonomous operation.
