The FiberChek Sidewinder from VIAVI is the first handheld tester on the market to fully-automatically inspect each individual fiber of MPO and other multi-fiber connectors. For a pass/fail analysis of an MPO connector with twelve fibers, this unit requires less than twelve seconds. A technician used to need more than four hours to inspect one hundred MPO connectors, and now he only needs 20 minutes.

With functions such as autofocus, auto-pan/scroll, and end face analysis, the Sidewinder delivers all data for certification according to IEC-61300-3-35 or specific customer requirements. The integrated touchscreen, the on-board memory, and a rechargeable battery with a long runtime make this device completely autonomous. Via its USB and WLAN interfaces, this unit can be connected to mobile devices or a PC without a problem.
