We offer tools for a large variety of different types of fiber processing:

This includes the stripping of fiber claddings, the cleaning and cleaving of fibers, and splicing or polishing, depending on the application. Microscopes and/or interferometers are used in the analysis of fiber end surfaces.

We have tools available for all stages of processing, both for field applications and applications in the laboratory. We cover the entire range of fiber diameters to 1.2 mm.

Mechanical Splice Kit for Optical Fibers

The Permalock^TM splice kit contains all the tools necessary to splice optical fibers.

Description

To easily and permanently connect two optical fibers, splicing techniques are used. The Permalock^TM splice kit contains all the tools and materials required for splicing. This kit includes a battery-operated handheld device for alignment and curing of the fibers as well as the tools needed to prepare the fibers.

This patented design facilitates the self-alignment of the fibers. To close the fiber gap a "light-bridging” gel is used.

This splice kit meets the specifications required for qualification and use in the aerospace industry. It is also used successfully in shipbuilding and submarines, mining, and communication networks. The Permalock^TM splice kit is particularly well suited for use in the field repairing defective fiber connections.
