The OP415 polarity analyzer contains twenty-four individual light sources and detectors that can be controlled independently of each other.
With the increasing use of multi-fiber connectors in data centers, be it the traditional types such as MPO/MTP connectors or new developments such as PRIZM and MXC, a new class of test equipment is required that is adapted to these connectors. OptoTest’s OP415 polarity analyzer can quickly and efficiently check the fiber assignment and channel configuration of MTP/MPO cables. The integrated color display allows the user to see the path of each channel at a glance. The device is designed for tests on 24-fiber configurations but can easily be adapted to versions with eight and twelve fibers. All the user needs to do is replace the cover plate with the appropriate slots. The polarity types A, B, and C are pre-installed for twelve and twenty-four fibers. However, the OP415 is also capable of storing other manufacturer-specific polarities.
The OP415 was primarily developed for use in the laboratory and offers crucial advantages in the manufacture of optical ribbon cables, among other things. The allocation of the individual channels is an important factor in the functionality of MTP/MPO cables.
