Alluxa’s Wide Range of Products

Photonics News Numéro 75

Contrasting Successfully – Higher and Narrower – The New Design Generation

D75-085

Alluxa is a bandpass filter specialist. It offers the flattest, squarest band shapes and very narrow, low-loss bandpass filters. As if that were not enough: Alluxa also offers its filters in combination with a transmission of >90% and with OD3 to OD6 designs in the wavelength range from 200 nm to 1200 nm. These filters are based on a hard, mostly one-sided coating without an additional AR coating.

Attractive Prices
Alluxa’s optical filters have a surprisingly good price/performance ratio, and for good reason: The coating times are significantly shorter than the hard coating technologies currently available on the market; for example, they are three times faster than an IBS coating. Many designs are, therefore, available at attractive prices.

Quality Control
An optical online monitoring system facilitates production; narrow band filters can thus be manufactured homogeneously without restrictions across a diameter of 100 mm. Depending on tolerance requirements, 250 mm is not much of a challenge for these systems either.

Flat-Top, Ultra-Narrow Band Filter
The monitoring system for substrate diameters of up to 250 mm is technologically advanced and makes it possible to manufacture the flat-top, ultra-narrow band filter series with an FWHM of <1 nm. This series features an excellent transmission/blocking behavior: Transmission values typically lie above 92% in combination with a broadband deep blocking behavior of up to OD6.

Further Production Possibilities

This product portfolio comprises so much more: edge filters, notch filters with broadband transmission and low ripple, dichroic mirrors – upon request, even with a flatness of <0.1 waves/1” – and multiband filters. Even custom job coatings are available in the UV to the NIR. By the end of 2015, another system will be set up to manufacture filters in the UV range of <300 nm.

Alluxa - New Partner for Optical Filters

An expert team with many years of experience in both thin-film technology and measurement technology founded the company Alluxa in California in 2007. Alluxa specializes in the development and production of optical filters.

Alluxa currently has nine identical coating systems available, all of which were designed and built in house. Each system covers the complete production process, which allows for optimal capacity utilization. Five additional systems are currently in the planning stages.

These systems are equipped with state-of-the-art automation technology, and the plasma coating processes are carried out with algorithms developed specifically for this purpose. Thus, Alluxa is able to produce highly individual hard layers; full automation makes it possible to reproduce results.

Laser Components is Alluxa’s official sales partner in the German-speaking market.
