ECOC News: Controlling Real-time Fiber Optic Measurements Remotely
aeRos™ – Cloud-based Workflow Management Platform from AFL
D76-022
The European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) is the largest European event in fiber optic communications technology. This annual congress with an accompanying technical exhibition is held in a different city every year. This time it was held in Valencia, Spain.
AFL introduced its pioneering cloud-based software tool, which is designed to revolutionize today’s workflows:
The aeRosTM platform makes it possible to continuously control testing processes. Two-way communication and bidirectional data exchange from technical planning to project management to the technician who carries out measurements on site are all supported by this platform.
Reduce Operating Costs
With the help of aeRos™, project managers can send work packages directly to technicians. They simply have to define exactly which measurements, configurations, and measurement criteria are required. This reduces setup times and almost completely eliminates errors in measurements performed on site.
Reliable and Remote Diagnoses
A technician’s field measurements can be monitored remotely and the measurement results accessed immediately. This makes it possible to discuss and solve problems in the field directly without having to return to the test site for expensive verification purposes.
Measurement Data Retrievable Any Time
The measured data is stored directly in the cloud to allow access anywhere any time.
Measurement Device for aeRos™
To make full use of the aeRos™ platform, new measurement devices were introduced. For more information on the ROGUE series, see here.
