The rapid development of fiber lasers has led to a great need for specialized, highly-developed, and sophisticated fiber-optic components. This includes endcaps, tapers, and various fused couplers used to combine pump power into a single fiber or mode-field adapter.
The companies 3SAE and Northlab have worked together with the industry for many years and developed custom machines and tools to meet very specific requirements. At our trade show booth, you may view the latest developments in this area. We will be displaying and demonstrating the following devices, as well as others:
LDS III: The large diameter splicing (LDS) system is being developed further to meet new challenges. Due to its modular design, it can perform varied tasks and belongs in any laboratory that is set up for work with fibers that have larger diameters. It is also an integral part of the production of fiber-optic components. Check out the latest stage of development firsthand!
ProCleave: Northlab’s cleaver will soon be available in two different designs and with a diamond control that has been further developed. Using the LDF version, fibers can be precisely cleaved up to 550 µm. The ProCleave SD can process fibers up to 200 µm.
ProCoater: Northlab will be introducing a new recoater that is small and cleverly designed. UV LEDs cure the recoating material in just two seconds; the molds are inexpensive and interchangeable. They are the perfect addition to the splicers.
NORIA: A complete station for the manufacture of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). It contains all elements necessary to write FBGs. In addition to the hardware, customers can also expect to receive strong technical support with vast professional and technological knowledge. A surprise awaits you at LASER!
