MAP - Multiple Application Platform

MAP – MAP is the measuring system developed by VIAVI for industrial and laboratory use. There are different measuring platforms available that vary in their number of connection slots. For these platforms plug-in modules for various measurements are available, such as, for example, light sources, filters, or optical switches.

MAP Power Meter mOPM

Optical Power Meter mOPM from JDSU

The mOPM power meters are available in different configurations, including versions with a front panel detector connection or remote detector heads. One plug-in module can house one, two, or four detectors.

The integrated detectors made of indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) are available with different performance grades and are suited for the power measurement of single-mode and multi-mode fibers. All versions offer high accuracy, linearity, and low polarization-dependent losses.

Detectors with a high performance grade are thermally stabilized to allow for a wide wavelength range. Some modules make it possible to achieve a dynamic range of up to 110 dB. High input level versions make it possible to achieve signal measurements with an optical power output of up to +27 dBm.

Features of the mOPM MAP Power Measurement Modules

  • Front panel detectors or remote detector heads
  • One, two, or four detector inlets per module
  • Sampling rate of 250 kHz for high-speed applications
  • Operating wavelengths between 750 nm and 1700 nm
  • Module with max. optical input power up to 27 dBm
  • For SM and MM fibers
