The OLS2 laser source emits laser light in a continuous wave (cw) or modulated with a test tone (1 kHz or 2 kHz). It is operated using the WaveID method. In this method, the light is coded to allow the receiver to recognize the transmitted wavelength. This leads to a reduction in the testing times. In addition, it is not necessary to set the correct wavelength on the receiver.

The following output options are available for selection: cw, WaveID, or dual wavelength WaveID. WaveID yields shorter testing times: Each wavelength is coded with a unique WaveID code.
