dBC-Series: Digital Bias Controllers without the Price Tag

The dBC-Series is designed for avalanche photodiode (APD) operation. Three are available; dBC-120-3x with 1 – 120 V output and 3V supply, dBC-220-3x with 1 – 220V output and 3 V supply and dBC-380-5x with 1 - 380 V output and 5V supply.

The dBC-Series is matched for InGaAs or Silicon APDs such as our IAG-Series and SAR-Series. All three possess the same compact housing dimensions 21 mm x 21 mm x 8.3 mm. The dBC-Series has temperature compensation circuitry embodied inside allowing APDs and APD-receivers to be controlled without the need for power-hungry and expensive cooling; only a temperature sensitive diode is required. A current limiter safeguards your APDs against overexposure. The output voltage may be fine-tuned by adopting either an analogue control voltage or voltage divider, or via digital interface provided (SPI or RS-232). Evaluation boards are also available.
