Our partner Firecomms focus on Fibre Optic Transceivers (FOT) via Plastic Optical Fibre (POF). The key product is the Optolock^® transceiver designed for instant termination of bare POF significantly speeding up and simplifying the connection of devices in communication networks.

 

A number of Optolock^® transceivers are available to meet specific operating standards; one being the Fast Ethernet FOT operating within the IEEE 802.3u Fast Ethernet data  communications standard, providing 250 Mbps/100 Mbps Ethernet communication link over 50/100 m POF, supporting IPTV and other infotainment. The result is seamless electrical-optical-electrical conversion with the distinct advantage of isolation from electro-magnetic interference.

 

Analogue Optolock^® transceivers are available typically used for sensor applications. The RCLED, TX / RX pair, 665 nm VCSELs, POF lengths and evaluation kits are also available.
