The new ModBox-850nm-28Gbps-NRZ from Photline Technologies is an optical reference transmitter designed for testing 100 GbE systems and components.

This is an optical modulation unit that generates high quality NRZ optical data streams at data rates up to 28 Gbps, and incorporates a 850 nm laser source, a modulation stage based on a high speed LiNb03 Mach-Zehnder modulator coupled with a 40 Gb/s RF driver and an automatic bias control circuitry. It can also receive an optional photodetection stage.

The ModBox-850 nm-28Gbps-NRZ provides R&D and production engineers with state of the art performance and the peace of mind of a turn-key instrument. It can be used as a reference transmitter for 100 GbE conformance testing in optical telecommunications laboratories and in production test beds.

ModBoxes reference transmitters are also available for alternative modulation formats and wavelengths (1310 nm, 1550 nm, 1060 nm).
