FLEXPOINT® Machine Vision Lasers

Laser modules have to fulfill special requirements in industrial image processing. Line lasers with a homogeneous power distribution are generally used in metrology, but high-power laser designs and special housings are also in demand in industrial image processing.

FLEXPOINT® MV18

Robust and versatile module with integrated M18 thread.

The FLEXPOINT® MV18 module is particularly robust and can be integrated without a problem into many standardized applications via an M18 thread. Power is supplied via an M12 screw connection.

With output power levels of up to 200 mW (at 450 nm), the line laser is the strongest in the MV series.
The modules are equipped with the new 2017-edition focusing mechanism and can be quickly and precisely focused. There are a number of optics available for selection, allowing the best ratio between line thickness and depth of focus to be achieved for each application. An inexpensive version with a fixed focus is even available for the MV18.

With the line thickness simulator, you can calculate the line thicknesses and the depth of focus of our MV line lasers with different optical configurations and focal distances.

Proceed as follows:
  • Please select wavelength, power, and focus option from the pull-down menus.
  • Click on "Draw".
  • If you then click on the graph for either the line thickness or the depth of focus in the diagram created at the desired focal distance, a second diagram is created which displays the course of the line thickness outside the selected focal distance (beam waist).
  • By clicking repeatedly on the first diagram, you can display the line thicknesses at further focal distances.
