Beam expanders with fixed or adjustable magnification levels.
Beam expanders have two main purposes in the laser industry:
LASER COMPONENTS offers a wide range of expanders for YAG systems and other wavelengths. The following standard expanders are available:
The most expanders are variable. Using an adjustment screw, the distance between the lenses can be changed to compensate for the divergence of the incident beam. The total length can vary by ± 3 mm. For easy mounting, the beam expanders are also available with external metric threads.
In zoom expanders an infinitely variable magnification level can be set ranging from 2 times to 8 times the original size. Due to the high variability, these expanders are quite common in the laboratory. The expanders are variable. That is to say, compensating for divergence/convergence is possible. Zoom expanders are available for a wide range of wavelengths.
