High-Temperature POFs for -55°C to +105°C

Especially in high-temperature environments, plastic optical fibers (POFs) are continuously stretched to their limit. This is explained by the fact that at high temperatures the transmission is reduced. Our partner Toray has helped remedy this situation by introducing a high-temperature POF onto the market that can withstand a temperature range of -55°C to +105°C.
This fiber is available in a cable version with a fiber diameter of 500 µm or 1000 µm. A PA or PE jacket serves as protection. Customers may choose between two different outer diameters: 1.5 mm or 2.2 mm. The numerical aperture is 0.58.
This fiber was developed for industrial applications and is also in demand in automotive applications.
