Cleaning connectors without moisture is the easiest way to remove dirt. Our product assortment ranges from wipes to so-called one-click cleaners.
Dry cleaning is the quickest and easiest way to clean fiber optic connectors; however, dirt that is set in is oftentimes difficult to remove, or it cannot be removed at all. In this case, cleaning with moisture is more suitable.
The following dry cleaning utensils are available in stock for immediate delivery:
Kimwipes
Dry cleaning wipes used to clean in and around laboratory equipment and instruments, camera lenses, fiber optic connectors, and electronic components.
Fiber Wipes
Cleaning wipes used to remove contaminants in fiber optic connectors; they stick to the cloth. This strong material absorbs dirt much better than conventional cellulose cloths. These wipes, which are packaged under cleanroom conditions, are available as individually-sealed, disposable wipes or come in dispensers.
Clean Wipes
CleanWipes are cleaning wipes that are attached to the packaging unit; the connectors are moved across the indentation on top of the packaging unit.
Optipop-C card cleaners are used to effectively remove contaminants, such as for example oil, dust, and dirt particles.
These card cleaners have a thickly-woven microfiber cloth that reduces static charge and ensures that the wiped dirt particles or contaminants stick to the cloth and are not transferred back to the connector end face.
Cletop adapter cleaning sticks (ACS) were designed to clean fiber optic couplers. These sticks are available for 1.25 mm and 2.5 mm couplers. They are not suited to clean internally fixed connectors.
One-Click Cleaners
The one-click cleaners from AFL Noyes are used to clean internal connectors through the fiber optic couplers. These special cleaning sticks are inserted into the coupler and pressed until a “click” can be heard: An optical cleaning tape is then fed through while the tip of the instrument rotates.
Up to 500 connectors can be cleaned per one-click cleaner. It is available for different connector sizes.
FerruleMate Optical Connector Cleaning Tool
Seikoh Giken’s FerruleMate 2.0 is a cleaning tool with an excellent price/performance ratio. Version 2 covers the largest cleaning area of all tools available on the market used to clean connector end faces, even through the adapters. The patented rotation method yields precise cleaning results. Contact pressure triggers the cleaning process, and the cleaning cycle ends with a clearly audible click.
With up to 800 cleaning cycles per unit, this tool offers the best price/performance ratio of all comparable cleaning systems available on the market. Anti-static materials and the microfiber band make it possible to use this cleaning tool even in ESD-critical environments. Not only are there versions available for 2.5 mm and 1.25 mm ferrules, but for MPO/MTP versions as well.
Antistatic dry cleaning cartridges with an automatically feeding cleaning tape: These cartridges function similar to CleanWipes but are more robust and have an ergonomic design for perfect handling.
The tape prohibits antistatic charges to prevent dust from being attracted to the connector while cleaning. Up to 400 cleaning cycles can be performed with one cartridge.
Cletop cleaning cartridges are available in different designs, for example with guiding slots for ferrule-based connectors or with a wide rectangle that can be used for all connectors including MPOs. The S series Cletop even has complete replacement cartridges.
One alternative to the Cletop product is the Reel Cleaner, which is also available as an MTRJ.
