Thousands of Fibers within a Single Standard Connectors
Limitless: Fiber Bundles for High-Power Applications with Almost Any Cross-Section
D77-019
Our partner Polymicro expanded its portfolio to include another product line: fiber bundles are now available for high-demand applications.
In addition to pure illumination applications, fiber bundles are also used for applications such as material processing, UV curing, photolithography, UV spectroscopy, sensor technology, analytics, UV illumination, and Raman spectroscopy.
Fiber Bundles in Any Arrangement
Using special assembly technology, very high packing densities and different arrangements can be achieved: round, square, linear, and hexagonal shapes are all possible.
Hardly any fiber bundle is like another because they are custom built. The range of models is wide and available on short notice.
All standard fibers can be processed at very different diameters, both in combination with standard connectors and with special ferrules and arrays. Production makes it possible to create single prototypes and large quantities in series.
Thousands of fibers can be contained in a single fiber bundle; therefore, the active area or cross-section knows no bounds.
Fused Fibers for High-Power Applications
In high-power applications, fiber bundles have only seldom been able to establish themselves. This can be attributed to the adhesive used on the front surface. Polymicro now also manufactures so-called fused fiber bundles: thanks to this technology, the front surface is free of adhesive. This improves transmission. These properties qualify fused fiber bundles for high-power laser and lamp transmissions and high-temperature applications. Power levels equivalent to the damage threshold of the fiber material used can be transmitted: generally, 1 GW/cm².
