Different Types of Diffractive Optical Elements
Market Review
D70-002
The variety of diffractive optical elements is growing significantly: Holo/Or will be introducing elements with completely new functions, as well as revised DOEs with improved characteristics or cheaper versions of existing models with modified specifications. We will introduce a part of this new product range here; a complete overview is available on our website.
New Vortex Elements
The new vortex elements have established themselves on the market and are used in particular for welding applications in which the center intensity of the Gaussian profile is disruptive. The donut profile of the vortex design is now used for multi-spot elements in which two donut profiles can be arranged either next to or one after the other.
Improved Focus Depth with DOEs
The small focus depth of optical elements is particularly problematic in laser applications. Thus, components were developed in which – depending on the design – up to 11 focal points can be set up one after the other. Another development is elements with an extended focus.
TopHat DOEs for Scanners
TopHat DOEs for scanner applications in which beam formation is carried out with very small spots that are up to 1.5x diffraction-limited are surprisingly inexpensive. These elements are available as a line or with a square or round spot.
Airy Beam DOEs
An airy beam is produced from the Gaussian beam of the laser: An airy beam is a non-diffractive wavefront that does not move along the beam axis but is bent during propagation and follows a parabolic arc.
DOEs according to Customer Request
All new developments originate from customer requests. Do you have a special request for your product? Inquire with us and we will test its feasibility!
