Fibercore – New Partner for Specialty Optical Fibers
Multicore Fibers for Numerous Applications
LASER COMPONENTS introduces Fibercore, another strong partner for optical fibers. Both companies signed a sales agreement for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in early 2017.
Founded as a spin-off of the University of Southampton in 1982, Fibercore established itself as a renowned manufacturer of optical fibers for special applications. The company’s range of optical fibers speaks for itself: Single-mode fibers are available for wavelengths from 480 nm to 1625 nm. Some of the coatings were specifically designed for extreme temperatures between -195°C and 300°C. With PM fibers, the polarization of light is maintained – even under severe stress. Simultaneous transmission of multiple signals can be achieved by Fibercore’s wide range of multimode and multicore fibers. Other specialty products include erbium doped and photosensitice fibers for DWDM systems.
Specialty optical fibers by Fibercore are used in numerous applications, such as fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs), hydrophones, fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, process monitoring, medical technology, and telecom technology.
