New MPO Switch Facilitates Automated Testing of Twelve Fibers
Developed for MTS-4000 V2
D83-210
Multi-path push-on (MPO) connectors are used when many optical fibers have to be connected in small spaces. Twelve fibers are often integrated into one MPO connector. This saves not only space and weight but also time during installation and thus costs. It used to be that an installation technician had trouble performing a network inspection because for the longest time the fibers of the multi-fiber connector had to be tested individually via a fanout cable. However, this can now be carried out much faster!
Equip your MTS-4000 V2 with the new MPO switch and an OTDR connector module to enjoy automated OTDR testing on MPO cables: The optical reflectometer checks each individual fiber for uniform cable attenuation and limits occurring errors. The switch is placed between the OTDR and the connector to be measured and provides for an automated switching operation between the twelve fibers.
We recommend this combination for the testing of structured single-mode cables in data centers, for the testing of MPO cables for FTTH and access networks, and for mobile fronthaul (FTTA/C-RAN).
The switch is prepared for combination with CerTiFi software.
