Perfect Precision with Fiber Coupling
Pulsed Laser Diodes and Avalanche Photodiodes
D72-029
Fiber-coupled avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and pulsed laser diodes (PLDs) are engineered and produced by Laser Components. The robust, hermetic assembly is effective for many applications: For example, high-power PLDs (as the laser source) and suitable low-noise InGaAs APDs are used for distributed temperature sensing (DTS) applications, and Si Geiger-mode APDs are used for photon counting.
Flexible assembly technology allows almost every combination of optical fiber and APD – Si or InGaAs. In principle, all PLDs can also be equipped with a fiber connection – no matter which wavelength it is required for: 850 nm, 905 nm, 1550 nm.
All fibers with a core diameter of up to 400 µm can be used. We also equip fibers with FC/PC or SMA connectors upon request. To optimize coupling efficiency, the fiber end faces can also be finished with an AR coating.
These robust components can be used across a wide temperature range – their design goes far beyond the requirements of the Telecordia GR468 directive.
Have a look at our accessories as well: Whether you need suitable driver electronics for a PLD or a high voltage supply for APDs, you obtain everything from one source.
