Aspherical lenses correct imaging errors – in monochromatic light, these errors include focus errors and distortion.
In geometric optics, imaging errors are known that cannot be corrected with individual spherical lenses. For this purpose, lenses with aspherical surfaces are used, the refracting surface of which differs from a spherical shape. To correct imaging errors, aspheres reduce the number of lenses in a system and thus the number of lossy surfaces; the performance of the overall system increases.
We can supply you with (rotationally symmetrical) aspherical glass lenses customized according to your specifications. With the pressed optics you can determine the radius and sagitta. Contact our product engineers to discuss details and technical feasibility.
