Fully automated interferometers for laboratory use for the evaluation of connectors – versions for thick fibers and fiber ribbons available.
Different interferometers are available for connector evaluation:
3D Scope is an interferometer for the end face evaluation of ferrules and fibers. The robust benchtop device is used in production where the interferometer’s main features can play out their strengths: it is fast, precise, and economical. In addition, it is insensitive enough to vibrations to carry out measurements in your hand.
The 3D Scope is connected to a PC using a USB 2.0 interface, which acts as the power supply and carries out the real-time control. The BLINK software controls the interferometer measurements and creates an Excel report.

DAISI: Digital Automated Interferometer for Surface Inspection.
The DAISI interferometer can measure PC and APC ferrules, connectors, and bare fibers. Operator errors can be ruled out – one simply has to push a button to perform a measurement. Automatic apex calibration is made possible by the servo-controlled reference mirror.
The DAISI meets the requirements for application in a production environment: uncompressed images are transferred in real time to a PC or laptop via a USB 2.0 interface. The interferometer is equipped with adapters for most connector types. The high reproducibility of its measurements makes the DAISI a reliable tool for industrial application. In addition, it is insensitive enough to vibrations to carry out measurements in your hand.

The DAISI MT is a combined white-light / red-light interferometer for the measurement of single fiber connectors and multi-fiber connectors. It has become the industry standard for measurements of MT connectors and is used both in the field and in production.
The benchtop device is insensitive to vibrations. Thanks to its autofocus and fast USB 2.0 interface, measurements are performed within a very short amount of time. The switch from APC to PC is particularly easy and fast since the ferrule holder remains the same. The automated end face measurements are based on current standards and are extremely reproducible.
The measurement data can be output as a report or exported in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.
Important Features of the DAISI MT
The robust, cost-efficient fiber and connector interferometers of the DAFFI series allow for fast, reliable measurements in all installation and laboratory environments.
Depending on the connector type, you can choose from three models:
Modular measurement system for measuring the concentricity of optical fibers or optical ferrules. This can be carried out by exchanging the measurement adapters of the basic device.
Ferrule Module (Measurement prior to Gluing in the Fiber)
Connector Module (Measurement following Gluing in the Fiber)
The VFI interferometric inspection system is used to analyze optical fibers directly after cleaving and polishing. This makes it possible to inspect the surface quality and flatness of fiber end faces.
This benchtop device is used in production, R&D, and quality control.
The ProView from NorthLab is an interferometer for the measurement and inspection of fiber end surfaces with cladding diameters of 125 µm to 720 µm. Designed specifically for production lines, which require easy, fast, and accurate end surface inspection, it is also well suited for R&D environments and the maintenance of cleaving tools.
Its compact design makes the ProView ideal for production benches and for use with fusion splicers, cleavers, and other preparation tools.
