Check for optical fibers quickly and easily.
The condition of an optical fiber can easily be checked with the fiber tester FIBERCHECK by coupling in good visible laser light.
Functional principle
If the beam hits a damaged part, most of the light is scattered out of the fiber. In this way a broken fiber can easily be recognized.
Following the same principle, the fiber will also light up when it is bent at such a tight radius that the conditions for total reflection inside the fiber are no longer given.
The FIBERCHECK
To carry out such checks easily and hassle free LASER COMPONENTS has developed the fiber tester FIBERCHECK. It is similar to a laser pointer and can be connected to a fiber. It emits red laser light at 655 nm and is visible to the human eye. Scattered light exiting the fiber can also be seen easily.
The FIBERCHECK is a laser class 2 device.
Thanks to the universal 2.5 mm adapter all connectors with a 2.5 mm ferrule diameter can be connected to the FIBERCHECK. Also available is an extra adapter for connectors with a 1.25 mm and 3.17 mm ferrule diameter.
