LASER COMPONENTS’ range of diffraction gratings is a comprehensive one. From spectral analysis to telecommunication applications, we deliver a suitable diffraction grating for your application. Our range comprises:
Ruled Gratings and Holographically Replicated Gratings
These standard gratings are manufactured with the help of a master grating and perform the same as the original. Their main application fields include spectrometres and monochromators. We offer a broad assortment of gratings with a wide range of grating constants and blaze wavelengths.
First Order High Resolution Gratings
The gratings replicated on Pyrex produce a wave front error of a maximum of l/4 and are thermally very stable. These gratings are available with grating constants of 120 L/mm to 1800 L/mm and blaze wavelengths of 250 nm to 12 µm. To increase their thermal stability the gratings are also available on Zerodur substrates.
Echelle Gratings
Echelle gratings have a high diffraction efficiency at higher diffraction orders and are thus primarily used in high resolution applications. Our Echelle gratings are produced on glass substrates and achieve 80-90% of their theoretical resolution.
Transmission Gratings
Transmission gratings are used, for example, in extremely compact spectrometres. Compared to reflection gratings, these gratings are less sensitive to adjustment errors and have only a very small polarisation dependency. Transmission gratings can also be used as beam splitters for monochromatic laser beams. They split the laser beam into several orders of various intensity.
Gratings for Dye Lasers
For cw applications we can provide first order gratings and Echelle gratings with a damage threshold of up to 250 W/cm2.
Gratings for Molecule Lasers
ML series gratings are used as end mirrors for molecule lasers. In a Littrow configuration, they facilitate the selection and tuning of the emission wavelength of the laser. The efficiency of our gratings is 92-96% (s-polarisation). These gratings consist of an aluminum coating on a copper substrate and have a high damage threshold. Standard gratings with grating constants of 75 L/mm to 450 L/mm are available for wavelengths from 2 µm to 16 µm.
Gratings for Telecommunication Applications
In addition, we have highly-efficient concave holographic gratings and optimised gratings for telecommunication applications with a low polarisation dependency between 1500 nm and 1600 nm available in our product range.
