InGaAs PIN Photodiodes

Modern InGaAs PIN photodiodes are panchromatic and convert broadband light to photocurrents in the Vis-NIR range. Concretely speaking, this means a sensitivity range from 500 nm to 1700 nm for regular InGaAs and – in increments – up to 2600 nm for extended InGaAs. Variations for data transmission are not panchromatic.

InGaAs PIN Receiver with Fibre Connection

Low-noise detectors with pigtail

1100 nm – 1700 nm. Broad range of InGaAs PIN receivers with fibre connection or optical connector.

PD-LD, Inc. offers a broad range of InGaAs PIN receivers with fibre connection or optical connector.

These low noise detectors with very high sensitivity are equipped with transimpedance amplifiers (TIA) and are either integrated into FC, ST, or SC receptacles or delivered with fibre connection. Core diametres range from 9 – 62.5 µm. The fibre end is either open or equipped with an optical connector (PC or APC polishing is possible).

Depending on the integrated receiver the bandwidth is optimised for

  • 155 MHz
  • 450 MHz
  • 1100 MHz
  • 2500 MHz

The InGaAs PIN chip has an active area with a diametre of 75 µm.

Customer-specific receivers can be integrated upon request.

Applications
These InGaAs PIN receivers can be used in fibre optical telecommunications (SONET OC-3/OC-12/OC-24/OC-48, SDH: STM1/STM3/STM6/STM12) or in ethernet networks.
