Laser Optics

A substrate is developed into a laser optic when it is refined with a dielectric coating. Due to the wide range of possible combinations between the substrate and the coating, one optic seldom resembles another. Contact us directly and together we can design a product to adequately suit your needs.

Dielectric coatings are one of our core competencies. We primarily deposit customer-specific optical coatings onto almost any substrates. E-beam technology, IAD, and IBS coatings are available.

A substrate is the basic component of a laser optic. Plano substrates, curved substrates for mirrors, lenses for laser and sensor applications, and prisms are all available for delivery.

Retardation plates, also referred to as wave plates, produce a phase shift, the principle of which is based on polarisation.

Polarisers are used to produce polarized light. Thin-film polarisers are used in high-power applications, whereas polarisation cubes are used for simultaneous beam separation.

For lasers at the infrared wavelength of 10.6 µm (e.g., CO2 lasers), lenses made of ZnSe are used as beam guides.
