Medical Assemblies

In medical technology, fibres are often used for lighting and transmitting high laser power. In this case, they serve as delivery fibres for various laser systems (e.g., for tattoo and hair removal, prostate treatment, kidney stone fragmentation, and sclerotherapy for varicose veins). We offer fibres for the transmission of wavelengths between 300 nm and 2500 nm.

Invasive Bare Fibres

Medical Devices: Bare Fiber with SMA Connector

Invasive fibres are fibres that are used inside the body for medical purposes.

Depending on the application, different versions of invasive fibres can be manufactured. This generally concerns bare fibre pigtails, which are equipped on one side with an SMA connector. The other side is typically cleaved or equipped with so-called fibre tips such as a spherical lens.

Upon request, we can also supply coded fibres (i.e., containing an RFID identifier).

Typical applications include kidney stone fragmentation, pneumology, and tissue ablation.
