The HP series detectors are optimized for measuring high laser powers. Due to Gentec-EO’s modular concept, they can be scaled for powers up to 100 kW and more as well as extended by numerous individual options.

The most impressive feature of the HP series is its thermal stability. The standard models with their big aperture can even detect laser beams with larger diameters.

Many high-power lasers work with small beam diameters. Accordingly, high laser damage thresholds are in demand for detectors. In the HP60 series from Gentec-EO, the beam hits a gold cone and is reflected to the sides of the aperture. Thus, its power is distributed over a larger area where it is detected by the absorber. This allows the damage threshold to be raised to high double-digit values.

The standard model is designed for powers up to 15 kW and can be adapted to your requirements.

The Super-HP series of high-power detectors features an innovative design that allows power measurements of multi-kW lasers. Standard solutions cover a range of up to 30 kW. With customized special designs even enable measurements up to 120 kW. You can choose between square, round, or rectangular apertures with sizes up to 500 mm × 500 mm.

Technical development causes the requirements for absorber surfaces to increase constantly. Spectrally flat absorption curves as well as high destruction thresholds are essential parameters. Still, even the best absorber captures only 90% of the radiation. The remaining 10% is diffusely backscattered. When it comes to extremely high average powers, this value is not insignificant. The water-cooled "TUBE" expansion gives you better control of these back reflections and creates a safer working environment for man and machine.

Using the “TUBE”, it is possible to reduce the back reflections to less than 4% of the incident radiation.
