Cleaning agents dissolve and remove tough contaminants on connector end faces.

Wet Cleaning Internal Connectors

Not all dirt particles can be removed by dry cleaning; other cleaning methods are, therefore, required. In addition to machine cleaning, there are other ways to wet clean internal connectors in field applications:

Cleaning Sticks
CCT cleaning sticks with a cleaning fluid offered by AFL Noyes can be used to soften and remove hardened impurities. The tips of the CCT cleaning sticks are made of a sintered polymer and are porous, which allows dirt to be absorbed and removed. To fit through the coupler and reach the connector end face, the sintered polymer is flexible.

FIO Alcohol Dispenser
Isopropanol is used to clean the fiber prior to splicing. To dispense the isopropanol in small doses, special dispensers are available.
