LASER COMPONENTS USA and, long-term partner, CODIXX, are proud to present a new family of super-thin 90 µm colorPol® polarizers that provide high transmission efficiencies and contrast ratio in telecommunications applications where space and signal quality are critical. The novel dichroic glass polarizers allow further miniaturization of integrated photonics, free-space isolators, and optical communication systems at reduced cost while maintaining excellent polarization properties in the near-infrared range. These new super-thin 90 µm polarizers will be on display at the OFC show in San Diego, CA from March 07-09, 2023, booth# 2724.
CODIXX's new super-thin 90 µm colorPol® polarizers, distributed in the U.S. by LASER COMPONENTS USA, are optimized for telecommunication wavelengths of 1310 nm and 1550 nm. With exceptional contrast ratios of > 10,000:1 and excellent transmission values, they block unwanted light to enhance the polarization purity of transmitted signals, ensuring clearer and more accurate signal transmission. Additionally, it is noteworthy that they offer identical performance compared to the standard colorPol® polarizers, regardless of thickness.
Thanks to CODIXX's proprietary technology that embeds silver nanoparticles in soda lime glass, the colorPol® polarizers are highly durable and resistant to environmental factors such as humidity and temperature variations of up to 400°C. Both super-thin 90 µm colorPol® polarizers are available with anti-reflective coatings and can be designed at various shapes and sizes. The manufacturer has already announced to expand this new family of super-thin colorPol® polarizers for the entire wavelength spectrum of UV – NIR.
»CODIXX is committed to being at the forefront of glass polarization manufacturing, as demonstrated by their recent advancements,« says Sean Wilson, Sales Account Manager at LASER COMPONENTS USA. »These polarizers provide superior performance, cost, and handling benefits compared to similar products on the market. We are convinced that our customers will value these advantages.«
