The LASER COMPONENTS Group
Günther Paul founded LASER COMONENTS in 1982 with the aim of supplying the still young German photonics industry with high-quality components from the U.S.A. Since then, LASER COMPONENTS has grown organically until it became the internationally active group of companies it is today. It now comprises seven companies in Europe, Canada, and the U.S.A., which employ a total of more than 260 people. Together, they generated a turnover of over 70 million euros in 2022 – which is equivalent to growth of around 15% compared to the previous year.
Always close to the customer
The most important drivers of our growth have always been the needs of our customers and a keen sense of technical trends and their impact on the market. Ideas for product adaptations were developed in close cooperation with our customers. This is why we opened our first in-house production facility in 1986 and began manufacturing components that are precisely tailored to the specifications of our customers’ applications.
Innovative by tradition
With a unique blend of innovative strength and a down-to-earth attitude, LASER COMPONENTS has nevertheless retained the character of an owner-managed family business. This self-image is reflected in a relaxed and open corporate culture, but at the same time means solid, future-oriented management. Targeted investments and a clearly focused product strategy ensure further growth.
Product diversity creates synergies
One reason for the success of the LASER COMPONENTS Group is the broad range of products, which covers almost all areas in which laser light is generated, shaped, transmitted, and detected. All product groups are closely interlinked. For example, we manufacture both pulsed laser diodes and the corresponding avalanche photodiodes and ensure that emitters and detectors are optimally matched. In our fiber optic portfolio, we offer optical fibers that are coated using the same production technologies as our laser optics.
Local expertise worldwide

In addition to the products manufactured by LASER COMPONENTS, our teams also offer goods from manufacturing partners, the selection of which is specifically tailored to the demands of the corresponding countries. Furthermore, over the decades we have created an extensive and reliable network of distributors, through which our components also reach regions of the world where we are not represented by our own team.
