Check for optical fibres quickly and easily.
The condition of an optical fibre can easily be checked with the fibre tester FIBERCHECK by coupling in good visible laser light.
Functional principle
If the beam hits a damaged part, most of the light is scattered out of the fibre. In this way a broken fibre can easily be gecognised.
Following the same principle, the fibre will also light up when it is bent at such a tight radius that the conditions for total reflection inside the fibre are no longer given.
The FIBERCHECK
To carry out such checks easily and hassle free LASER COMPONENTS has developed the fibre tester FIBERCHECK. It is similar to a laser pointer and can be connected to a fibre. It emits red laser light at 655 nm and is visible to the human eye. Scattered light exiting the fibre can also be seen easily.
The FIBERCHECK is a laser class 2 device.
Thanks to the universal 2.5 mm adapter all connectors with a 2.5 mm ferrule diametre can be connected to the FIBERCHECK. Also available is an extra adapter for connectors with a 1.25 mm and 3.17 mm ferrule diametre.
