The perfect splice for each application
All three axes (X, Y, Z) of optical fibers must be precisely aligned in order to achieve precision splices. Using 3-axis splicers with movable V-groove holders prevents any misalignment.
The best splice quality is achieved when the fiber cores are aligned with each other - especially with single-mode fibers. Core-centered devices achieve splice attenuations of 0.01 dB, which is at the limit of physical limitations.
Cladding-centered devices, which only align the outer diameters of the fibers, are an inexpensive alternative for short distances.
All FITEL splicers presented here feature a software-controlled self-adjustment function: They automatically adapt to the reference standards for the respective fiber types and manufacturers. This means that you get an optimum results from the very first splice.
S154-AC: Robust splicer for LAN, Campus and FTTx
The FITEL S154-AC is the perfect splicer for use in harsh environments - for example when rolling out FTTx and metro networks. The cladding-centered device completes each splice in a maximum of 6 seconds at a maximum loss of 0.03 dB.
It is easy to operate and maintain: Take out the V-groove and you can easily clean the lenses.
S185LDF: For special fibers with diameters up to 500 µm
The FITEL S185LDF is designed for applications that use large fiber diameters of up to 500 µm. Fibers are precisely aligned with a resolution of 0.03 µm while the innovative fiber clamp design protects them from damage.
The rugged housing, powerful battery and handy carrying case make the S185LDF the ideal choice for demanding tasks in the field.
S179+: Core-centering 3-axis splicer for the highest quality
FITEL S179+ is a core-centered 3-axis splicer for bend-insensitive fibers used in metro, LAN and FTTx networks. In semi-automatic mode, the splicing process takes a mere 6 seconds and the splice protector is applied after 9 seconds. The long-life battery lasts for up to 220 splicing cycles.
There are two new features for particularly precise and stable splicing results:

The Fluid Arc System (FAS) analyzes the brightness profile of the arc and automatically adjusts arc power during operation according to the environmental conditions and the condition of the electrodes.

The Automatic Cleave Compensation System (ACCS) reduces splice losses by automatically increasing the arc duration if the cleave angle is between 2° and 5°. As a result, acceptable results can be achieved even at less than perfect cleaves. The ACCS is the ideal solution for technicians who do not want to recondition each single fiber in their day-to-day work - for example in telecommunications, where many SM-SM or G657 connections have to be spliced.
The algorithm for calculating the splice loss has been optimized allowing for a typical loss of 0.01 dB.
Alongside two integrated USB interfaces, the FITEL S179+ can connect to your smartphone via an NFC interface.
The FITEL S179+ is the perfect choice for working in data centers and on LAN, MAN, WAN and FTTx networks. It is approved for use in the Deutsche Telekom network in accordance with DTAG ZTV TS 0290/96.
SmartFuse - The smart PC software for FITEL splicers
The SmartFuse software is used to control all FITEL splicers from a PC. It allows splice images and splice data to be exported or updates and new programs to be loaded onto the splicer.
