The human eye is spectrally most sensitive to green light. This wavelength is thus particularly advantageous for use in pointers and for applications in measurement technology because a green dot is “brighter” than other colors at the same power. This allows laser protection to be more easily and effectively maintained.

The green laser diodes are available from 510 nm to 530 nm; a wavelength selection is also possible. An output power of up to 120 mW can be achieved. The versions available in the TO33 and TO56 housing with an integrated monitoring photodiode or Automatic Power Control make it particularly easy to monitor and adjust the power.
