Laser Windows with Excellent Optical Properties
Optical windows or laser windows are often used to protect optical systems and electronic sensors from the environment. As the windows themselves must not introduce any optical refraction into the system, they must be selected according to various criteria. These include material properties such as transmission, refractive index, density, thermal expansion coefficient, surface specifications, and mechanical properties.
There is a wide variety of designs available for optical windows: in addition to typical shapes such as round and rectangular, substrates with customized shapes are also available. For many applications, low-cost BK7 is sufficient. Optical windows made of quartz glass are suitable for applications with high cw power densities. It is possible to achieve dimensions ranging from a few millimeters to over 300 mm at thicknesses of a few millimeters.
Depending on the application and required specifications, LASER COMPONENTS coats the substrates exactly according to your wishes. If, for example, power losses are to be minimized, anti-reflective coatings are used. For special applications, we offer special coatings such as broadband anti-reflection coatings (e.g., from 633 nm to 1064 nm) and multiple anti-reflection coatings (e.g., 1064 nm plus 532 nm). We look forward to your inquiry.
