The optical protection switches of the Polatis 6000 pss series guarantee maximum security, minimum downtimes, and optimum data security for critical processes in data centers, telecommunications, and defense. In the event of a fault, up to 16 bidirectional connections are automatically switched to alternative lines within 30 milliseconds.
In addition to the matrix switch, a rack unit also contains the optical power monitors for power monitoring. They can be operated as stand-alone protection switches or as part of a comprehensive network management system. The protection switches support SDN-OpenFlow, NETCONF, TL1, SNMP and can be easily integrated into existing network control platforms.
Optical protection switches are the fail safes of modern data communication.
