How can you ensure that the pipes of high-pressure pipelines have a perfectly round cross-section and thus withstand the highest stresses during operation?
The FLEXPOINT® radial laser module, developed by our partner Blau Optoelektronik together with MSG Maschinenbau (GmbH), offer help. To generate the ring-shaped beam, the laser light is directed onto a cone-shaped mirror, which reflects it evenly in all directions. The ring-shaped beam achieves 80% homogeneity throughout at a power of 50 mW. This enables a surveying device to create a detailed 3D model of the inside of the pipe, on which irregularities as small as 50 µm can be easily detected.
