At Vision 2024, LASER COMPONENTS will be presenting FLEXPOINT® modules with a new, more robust focusing mechanics. The laser modules equipped with this mechanics are considerably more robust and durable: they are dustproof and protected against the permeation of humidity and splashing water. This means that they provide the high beam quality that is expected in industrial image processing (IIP) even under demanding environmental conditions.
The improved mechanics also offer further advantages: The modules are shorter than the previous versions. In addition, the already excellent mechanics have been further optimized allowing the beam deviations that occur during the focusing process to be further reduced. Nothing has changed in terms of handling. Anyone who has ever set up a FLEXPOINT® module will not have any problems with it in the future.
The following FLEXPOINT® models are currently equipped with the new focusing mechanics: MVpico, MVnano, and MV18. However, the manufacturer will continue to supply these modules with the previous dimensions upon request, for example if this is necessary due to existing sensor designs.
“In application areas such as wood, metal, and stone processing, image processing systems are exposed to extreme conditions caused by dust and water,” says Jochen Maier, head of the optical systems business unit at LASER COMPONENTS. “With our new focusing mechanics, we can guarantee that our FLEXPOINT® MV modules will deliver the expected performance over the long term, even with these demanding conditions.”
