LASER COMPONENTS offers many career opportunities to talented and dedicated employees. Our young colleague Mohammad Almoslim is a good example of this. He began his training with us six years ago and will soon be tackling the next rung on the career ladder with advanced training to become a state-recognized technician.
Mohammad is originally from Syria. He came to Germany in 2016 and immediately started to learn the language and build a secure livelihood here. In 2017, he already attended a one-year course run by the electricians' guild where not only his technical skills were developed. He was also able to improve his German and learn everything he needed to successfully join a German company. In striving for financial independence, he used his talent for precision mechanical work and repaired cell phones in a telecommunications store. He had already used these skills to finance his studies in Syria.
Right from the first interview, he impressed everyone at LASER COMPONENTS with his open nature and commitment. Consequently, he began his 3½-year apprenticeship as an electronics technician for devices and systems in September 2018. It allowed him to live out his passion for precision work to the full and he quickly made friends as a dedicated colleague. At the end of his training, there was no doubt that Mohammad's future lay in many more areas than just manufacturing FLEXPOINT laser modules. As a result, he has also been putting his talent at the service of our partner FITEL Furukawa since the beginning of 2024 and is now an expert in the repair and calibration of fiber optic splicers.
So it is no wonder that Mohammad is already planning his next career move. With the support of LASER COMPONENTS, he will begin advanced training to become a state-certified technician in fall and will devote a considerable amount of his free time to this over the next three years. On top of the technical skills he acquired during his training with us, he will also gain knowledge in numerous other areas, such as project and quality management, work and company organization, and employee management. As a state-certified technician, he will then be able to supervise trainees himself.
When asked about the secret of his success, Mohammad is modest: »You just have to be persistent and keep at it, then you can achieve all your goals.«
Mohammad's career is not unusual. At LASER COMPONENTS we make sure that talented and committed employees have the opportunity to develop within the company. This benefits both sides, because in times of a shortage of skilled workers, it is important to support employees like Mohammad and promote their careers.
