Power Transmission and Medical Technology Patch Cords

Analytics, medicine, aerospace, military, industry, telecommunications, or industrial communications - for each area of application there is an ideal large-core fibre with a step-index profile.

In laser technology optical power has to be transmitted with as little loss as possible. High-OH fibres are used for UV wavelengths; otherwise, low-OH fibres with a quartz/quartz profile (NA = 0.22, diameter = 200 µm to 1000 µm) can be used. The high damage threshold is important: 1 GW/cm². LASER COMPONENTS offers fibre assemblies from our in-house production, these are equipped with high-power connectors and are ready for use. In order to reach the highest coupling efficiency possible, we coat the fibre end faces, and an AR coating improves the efficiency by 6-8%.
