Compact Fibre Optic Measurement and Testing Equipment

BERT 1001/1005 Series

Dual-channel and four-channel PPG and bit error tester for characterizing transceivers and optoelectrical components.

The MATRIQ BERT 1001/1005 series instruments are dual-channel or four-channel PPGs and error detectors for the development, characterization, and production of optical transceivers and optoelectrical components at data rates of up to 30 Gb/s.

Thanks to their high scalability and exceptional signal fidelity, they provide a cost-effective test solution for 400 Gbit/s communication systems.

Features:

  • Programmable PPG Tx deemphasis and continuous-time linear equalizer (CTLE) processor to compensate for connection losses in coaxial cables
  • Built-in clock recovery: Simultaneous four-channel measurement in an integrated CDR; no additional clock recovery hardware required
  • Internal clock synthesizer
  • Graphical user interface for easy, intuitive control of all channels via PC and mobile devices.

The BERT 1100 series comprises 4- or 8-channel pulse pattern generators and error detectors for development, characterization and manufacturing of optical transceivers and other optoelectronic components. These scalable bit error detectors support optical and electronic systems with bandwidths up to 400 Gb/s.
